Empowering Communities Through Action

Our programmes empower vulnerable communities by tackling interconnected challenges associated with health, livelihoods, climate resilience, and humanitarian response, enabling them to build sustainable and dignified lives.

Climate Resilience & Environmental Restoration

Through the ER2CC Project (co-funded by the European Union and Christian Blind Mission), CeGHaD strengthens civil society organizations to actively engage in climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts across Plateau State.

Key Achievements:
– 31,191 trees planted across 12 communities
– 117 smallholder farmers trained on climate-resilient agriculture
– 1,073 smallholders now practicing sustainable agriculture
– 1,120 people in Village Economic and Social Associations (VESA)
– 12 communities with disaster preparedness plans

Inclusive Healthcare & Disability Support

The BASICC Project (funded by Christian Blind Mission) improves the quality of life for persons with disabilities and vulnerable groups through community-based inclusive development (CBID) approaches in Mangu Local Government Area.

Key Achievements:
– 10 persons with disabilities trained on skills acquisition with start-up support
– 18 beneficiaries supported with ₦50,000 grants each for income-generating activities
– 90 persons enrolled in Plateau State Health Insurance Scheme (PLASCHEMA)
– 822 dignity kits distributed
– 30 persons supported with assistive devices
– 3 ward heads appointed who are persons with disabilities

Humanitarian Aid & WASH Services

The North Central Transitional Aid in Nigeria (NoCTRAiN) project (funded by German Federal Ministry BMZ) enhances the resilience of conflict-affected communities by improving inclusive WASH services and creating economic opportunities.

Implemented across multiple LGAs in Plateau and Nasarawa States, the project targets vulnerable households with emphasis on inclusion for persons with disabilities.

Focus Areas:
– Inclusive Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities
– Income-generating activities for displaced communities
– Support for over 400,000 displaced individuals
– Agricultural production support to combat food insecurity
